Electric Skateboard Review

Today we take a lookie at my spanking new electric skateboard called the Yuneec E-GO Cruiser - probably the best 700 USD I've ever spent. Here it is being taken for a whirl around Akihabara.

That's interesting, but like Totoro commented, skateboarding fans would feel like a big part of the sport is lost with the addition of an electronic part.

I have seen them in a couple of shops, but they are not very popular. I think those who enjoy a skateboard would find it boring to be motor-driven.

My point of view is that's not a marketable-thing for usual skate addict anyway, who indeed are in need for different adrenaline shots. And its selling price ... ouch! More suitable for medium-class-posh-city-dweller than for any teenage-redneck I guess. Still, feel like it's a cool alternative way to commute. Which could make sense in crowd-packed Japan urban areas?

By the way, street-skateboarding in japan big cities? Nah, you'll find nice deserted spots but expect to be quickly pissed off by any bored KOUBAN police staff in the neighborhood !

PS: wait, what's the Japanese stuff in this toy ? Yuneec Co. ltd is established in Hong-Kong (source: http://yuneec.uk/index.php/yuneec)
