Snowball Fight in Uonuma www3.nhk.or.jp

About 1,200 people have taken part in a snowball fight in Uonuma, Niigata Prefecture, on the Japan Sea coast.

Sunday's event was the 29th contest held in the city.

This year 240 teams that included everyone from elementary school age children up to grown-ups registered to take part.

This area gets loads of snowfall. Accumulations of 4 m (13 ft) are considered "normal" :o). There is enough snow for the entire country to fight!

I know a lot of poeple hate the snow but I just love it. From watching in it to playing it. You are never too old to go running, jumping, and sliding through it! I didn't get to have a snowball fight this year, sadly.
