The Japanese and European space agencies have unveiled their joint probe to be launched to Mercury.

Many mysteries remain about Mercury. Ionized gases and high temperatures linked to its nearness to the Sun make exploration difficult.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and European Space Agency disclosed details of the mission on Thursday.
