The Tokyo government has decided that a giant panda cub at Ueno Zoo is ready to make her public debut. She will go on display on December 19th.

Xiang Xiang was born at the zoo in central Tokyo on June 12th. She now weighs over 10 kilograms.

Officials say they chose a weekday for her debut to avoid weekend congestion
