I knew about karaoke being a big deal in Japan, it is just something that everyone enjoys but to think of baseball as a way to connect with people - I would have never thought of that!! It makes sense though because you are part of a large crowd cheering on the same thing. It is easy to enjoy something like that without speaking a word.
