But one dad appears to have come up with a very clever and amusing solution to stop his son getting tearful.
A Twitter user called @sato_nezi has revealed the sneaky way he has stopped his one-year-old from crying every time his mother needs to leave the room.

This prevented him from running over to his 'mum' and figuring out it wasn't a real person.
The creative trick appears to be working wonders so far, with the dad filming his son's reaction to the cut-outs and sharing them online.
