No immediate reports of damage, tsunami after magnitude 5.6 quake TOKYO-A powerful earthquake shook central Tokyo on Monday afternoon, causing the temporary suspension of some bullet trains and the closure of airport runways at one of the capital's air hubs. There was no danger of a tsunami and no initial reports of any damage, according to national broadcaster NHK.
I am not in Japan but I was reading my twitter feed at the moment of the earthquake when all my japan based contacts started reporting alarms, shaking buildings and such. Yeah, luckily there was not much damage this time.

I was in my office on the 7th floor, and it shook for about a minute. Nothing fell down. The warning alarms on mobile phones sounded everywhere, and we received an SMS indicating the location that triggered the earthquake warning. Fortunately, no damage this time.
