Japanese salarymen are know for their desire to wear full suits to work. While this is fine in winter, it makes offices turn air-conditioning high during the hot and humid Japanese summer. "Cool Biz" is a campaign that encourages dressing down and setting the office air-conditioning to 28 degrees Celsius (which is not that bad once humidity is gone). Office workers in Japan are doing without their jackets and ties now that the annual "Cool Biz" energy-saving campaign is underway. The government is encouraging people to turn up office temperatures and scale down office wardrobes. It is all part of efforts to fight global warming.

This is a nice way to make a difference. I do small things like using the oven without preheating, only using the AC when temp are over 80 degrees fahrenheit, and using my fireplace on cool days.
