A Japanese hot spring resort is providing a rare chance for visitors to enjoy 3 days of spa and amusement park attractions simultaneously.

The "spamusement" park opened on Saturday in the city of Beppu, Oita Prefecture, western Japan, only to those who donated money to help realize the special features.

The idea of the fun park was first presented in a promotional video for the city released last year. The video gained popularity and the city launched a fundraising campaign to make it a reality.
