The media tried to get some attention to the topic, but it didn't work so well. Overall, Trump is considered a ????, a strange character for the position he is after.

Younger people in Japan are not very interested in politics, be it Japan or international.

The only time he managed to create some buzz was when he wanted Japan to pay the costs of stationing military here. Even that was like "but they are the ones who want to be here" :-p.
