More than 90 teams have taken part in a race using hand-made rafts on a river in suburban Tokyo.
The race was organized by residents of Komae City. People from other areas competed in the annual event that was first held 27 years ago.
Teams of 3 to 5 people used rafts made of polystyrene foam, wood and other materials to reach the finish line 1.3 kilometers down the Tama River.
