Major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers have stopped making some of their "classic" models.

Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki say tougher emissions regulations have forced them to abandon bikes whose designs go back decades.

Honda Motor ended production of the "Monkey" last month. This mini-bike was launched 50 years ago.
It's got foldable handlebars so it can be stowed in the trunk of a car. Honda has sold 660,000 of them in Japan. Kawasaki Heavy Industries has retired 5 models.
