Tokyo police are training a unit of female officers to guard US First Lady Melania Trump when she visits Japan next week.

US President Donald Trump and the first lady are scheduled to visit Japan from Sunday through Tuesday. Trump's daughter Ivanka is to arrive in Japan this Thursday.

Tokyo police decided to create their first all-women unit in anticipation of visits by more female VIPs in the run-up to the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
