One thing that’s unlikely to be included in your vision is a duck-bill - but a new species of dinosaur discovered in Hokkaido, Japan had just that.
Researchers from Hokkaido University Museum have discovered the nearly complete skeleton of a new species that dates back 72 million years.
"There is no doubt that this is the best preserved large dinosaur skeleton from Japan.”The animal belonged to the Edmontosaurini clade, and is closely related to two other dinosaurs discovered in Russia and China.
"Kamuysaurus is closely related to the animal we study from Alaska, Edmontosaurus, a duck-billed dinosaur also found throughout much of western North America.
"Because these dinosaurs are so closely related, they provide further evidence that long ago, Asia and North America were connected."
