U.S. President Donald Trump's administration views Huawei -- a leader in next-generation 5G wireless networks -- as a national security threat, suspecting its equipment could be used for cyberespionage.
Commercial 5G services, which can deliver data transmission speeds around 100 times faster than 4G, are set to be launched in Japan next spring.
The technology is expected to be widely used in areas such as autonomous driving, gaming and remote medical surgery.
