Kyoto Animation to demolish studio www3.nhk.or.jp

NHK has learned that Kyoto Animation will demolish the studio that was badly damaged in a deadly arson attack in July.
Sources tell NHK the company explained its demolition plan to local residents on Saturday.
Preparations for the demolition, such as scaffolding and clearing the studio of remaining items, will start as soon as Monday, and continue to the end of the year.
President and CEO of Kyoto Animation, Hideaki Hatta, mentioned his plan to demolish the studio at a news conference last month.
He said it pained him deeply to see his beloved studio in such a state.
