this event has been postponed for the forseeable future As a preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19Every year, local shoemakers gather at Tamahime Inari Shrine for the Kon-Kon Kutsu Ichi (“Shoe Festival”).
In a gesture of customer appreciation, these companies sell their goods (men’s shoes, women’s shoes, sneakers, sandals, bags, belts, leather accessories and material, etc.)
In addition to the market, visitors can participate in a ceremony giving thanks for old shoes and enter a raffle for various prizes.
There’s also a parade featuring floats in the shape of men’s and women’s shoes.
A part of the proceeds from purchases will go to the Japan Red Cross.
