The day for eating grilled eel is July 22nd! Retailers and restaurants are gearing up to boost sales of grilled eel as the mercury rises, toward the traditional Days of the Ox, dates calculated from the ancient Chinese calendar and representing the height of summer. Many are pricing their dishes slightly lower than last year thanks to a fall in wholesale prices reflecting good catches of juvenile eels last year.
I don't think I would have the courage to eat eel, haha... It doesn't look too bad though. I'd definitely try it if I were in Japan ;)
