If you are in Japan, and you or the kids accompanying you are geeky, here is a small show that you must see. The show does not limit itseld to Rudy Goldberg machines. It heals kids to learn problem solving skills, too.
The last time we visited our favorite sushi joint ( Circle Sushi in Sandy Springs, GA, in case you're wondering), they were playing a DVD on the hi-def TV that included a seemingly endless sequence of clever Rube Goldberg-like machines, whose only goal, apparently, was to reveal a message written in katakana.
They actually started running Pitagora Suichchi on NHK World channel a while ago which me and my son enjoy greatly :) NHK World is not only available in japan, but all over the world. It is in base packages of most cable TV providers. And it is in English, so look it up.
