KYOTO--Researchers here said they have converted skin tissue into nerve cells using commercially available chemicals. The scientists from the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine said May 1 they expect the technique to contribute to advancements in regenerative medicine as well as more effective treatments for neural diseases and spinal injuries.
