The world may be fascinated by the anime and manga "otaku" (geek) culture that has transformed Tokyo's Akihabara "Electric Town" district. But Takeo Oka wants to keep it from encroaching into his neighborhood, across the Kanda river straddled by the Manseibashi bridge in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward.
Kanda area, just next to Akihabara, has some of the oldest shops in Tokyo, because it somehow survived the WW2 air raids on Tokyo. You can still see these old shops by getting off JR Kanda station and walking past the relatively new shopping streets near the station.
