Soon, there will be a driverless mini bus that runs on public space in Japan.
I really want to try this one, but I don't dare to go with the kids :). I don't think its sensors can handle them.
Just kidding, this might be useful in some countries to get rid of stray cats :-p
Yeah, I am all for it. If you see how some people drive you will realize that robots must be much safer drivers :) so I wouldn't have any hesitation. I expect that the Japanese authorities have made all the necessary tests to assure the safety of the vehicle.
It happened around ten years ago, but it haunts me since I work a lot with kids. sensors for these gadgets have improved a lot since then. The regulatory bodies, too, are very strict on safety checks and warning signs. I hope such a thing will never happen again.
