An elementary school in western Japan says it plans to use a software application to prevent online bullying.

The app was developed by a US IT firm. It allows victims of cyberbullying or bystanders who witness such acts to report them anonymously to their schools by sending messages or photos with smartphones.

The app has about 3 million users around the world.

I have seen this news. Unfortunately there was not enough information provided to have a clear idea of how the application functions. And to be honest I wonder if such an application would function - for it to be effective it has to have nearly total adoption among students.

And how easy/hard would it be to use for a Japanese Primary Schooled when it was developed by a US IT firm? I am looking for more articles on this.
