10 Things to Do in Kabukicho tokyocheapo.com

Whether you’re keen to try out the dodgier side of nightlife that Tokyo has to offer or just want to explore the streets, there are plenty of things to do in Kabukicho. The entertainment district is filled with bright lights, bars, restaurants and pachinko parlors as well as touts and hustlers—so you do need to keep your wits about you. This is a great place to enjoy the younger scene in Tokyo, and has something to suit everyone, as well as being home to some of the most famous spots in the city. Any place that has Godzilla as an ambassador has to be worth checking out.

One thing to avoid doing in Kabuki-cho is too go drinking. There have been cases of making customers drunk and overcharging them. While both the ward office and the well-behaved shops are trying their best to get rid of the problem, it is good to be careful until we have evidence that things have changed.

I hear the same (and even worth) things about Roppongi. I wonder if Tokyo is so safe as we'd like to think it is?

A friend of mine had this happen to him when he was visiting Tokyo last year. I thought he was joking. They gave him and his friends strong drinks and then charged them for 3 meals a piece!
