I am not sure how trustworthy a source of information Nigeria Today is. Personally I have a difficulty of trusting anything Nigerian online :)

But it is quite cool if some offline shops in Akihabara start accepting Bitcoin.

BitCoin is a very good concept and was most likely originated with very good intentions. But now it is a safe haven for the Chinese mafia and cybercrime groups. I prefer not to use BitCoin to ensure that I am not contributing to these people.

That's true. I think that I am living a kind of a walled garden where I am protected from the shadow sides of things that I don't even have to think about them. But you are right, Bitcoin is a tool that is particularly easy to use by criminals and we shouldn't get overexcited about it.

I agree with this 100%. Using Bitcoin just makes you ensure the problem has a future. I never felt it was ran properly and that is why it has failed but still enough people use it to where cyber mafia and malware practices like "wannacry" can be used.
